How To Apply Stellmann Non-Slip

1. Pre-Application Surface Prep

Thoroughly clean the surface using Stellmann Prep & Maintenance Cleaner, ensuring the removal of all dirt, dust, and unwanted materials.

Use a squeegee to remove contaminated water and wash/rinse the surface until all foaming ceases. Make sure the surface is completely dry before starting the Stellmann application.

Verify that previously applied coatings are firmly bound to the substrate. Remove any loose or flaking paint/coatings thoroughly before application.

2. Stellmann Primer

Stellmann Clear Primer is a single-component primer that is over-coatable in approximately 30 minutes. It is designed to optimise the adhesion of the Stellmann Non-Slip Clear PRO coating to any surface.

  • Stir/shake prior to use and dilute with water on a 1:1 ratio.
  • High suction substrates like concrete may require more primer. Apply two layers to raw timber.
  • Small areas (-15sqm): use a sponge to apply the primer to the surface.
  • Large areas: (15sqsm+): use a flat microfiber mop to evenly apply the primer to the surface.
  • Avoid puddling, skinning and streaks.
  • Cures in approx. 30 min at 21°C and 50% relative humidity; higher temperatures shorten and lower temperatures lengthen these times. Surface is ready for application if dry and slightly tacky.
  • Do not use cleaning agents after applying Stellmann Primer. Over-coat Prime within 8 hours.
