The iconic 1 Midland Square building in Midland, Western Australia, recently underwent a significant refurbishment. The building will be transformed into a modern and functional government office space. Led by Georgiou, the $80 million redevelopment upgrades the historic site with new amenities and state-of-the-art facilities. Stellmann Non-Slip has created slip-resistant floors in the bathrooms and toilet areas to provide safety compliance.

Georgiou is a national building and civil construction company with a reputation for delivering complex projects. The Perth based company has quality, safety, and innovation at the forefront. As part of the 1 Midland Square refurbishment, newly installed tiles in the bathroom and toilet areas were found to be non-compliant. Although the tiles were supposed to have the right slip-rating, they failed to meet the required P3 standard after a slip-test was conducted.

To avoid a costly tile replacement, Georgiou turned to Stellmann Non-Slip for a solution. To provide certified compliance, Stellmann Non-Slip PRO P3 got specified for the project. Our water-based, VOC-free coating provides CSIRO-certified slip resistance (up to P3 up to P5 rating). Furthermore, our coating does not compromise the appearance or integrity of the surface. Instead, it creates a clear, slip-resistant seal on top of the surface.

Stellmann Non-Slip Application

Working closely with Georgiou Constructions and subcontractor Vercon, Stellmann Coatings was applied to over 380m2 of tiled floors. Our Technician, Dennis, was onsite to provide hands-on installation training. The training included the full installation process, from surface prep to the application of our non-slip coating.

Thanks to the collaboration, the bathroom and toilet areas at 1 Midland Square now have slip-resistant floors. After the application, the Stellmann Coating passed an independent slip-test conform AS 4663-2013, confirming our slip-resistance guarantee.
