Atura Albury, a 140-room hotel located in the heart of Albury, New South Wales, boasts urban, industrial, and art-inspired styling, combined with dynamic open-plan spaces that offer guests an escape from everyday life. Stellmann Non-Slip prevents slips and falls in the kitchen of the hotel.
In its commitment to guest safety, hotel management identified the need to increase the slip resistance of the kitchen floor to prevent potential slips and falls. Retiling the entire floor would have resulted in extensive downtime, so alternative solutions were explored.
After evaluating several options, Atura Albury selected Stellmann Non-Slip Coating for application to the existing floor tiles. This transparent coating upgraded the surface to the highest slip rating under the Australian Safety Standard (AS 4586), effectively preventing slips and falls, even in wet and greasy conditions.
An added benefit of the durable non-slip coating is its ability to seal the tiles. “Anti-slip treatments rely on acid etching, which creates tiny cracks in the surface,” explains Dennis Keltjens, Installation Technician at Stellmann Non-Slip. “This poses a hygienic risk, as the surface becomes porous and easily absorbs dirt.”

Because the Stellmann Non-Slip Coating is transparent, it maintains the aesthetics of other surfaces such as showers, pool areas, verandas, and other high-quality substrates. Additionally, if needed, Stellmann can be completely removed without damaging the surfaces.
