What is AS 4586?
AS 4586 is the Australian Standard slip test: the surface is tested wet and given a P rating from P0 to P5, and the higher the number, the more slip resistance it has.

Walkway Coating FAQs
Can one product really cover concrete, pavers and timber?
Yes. The coating is tested across all common walkway materials, so a mixed-surface route is treated as one job with one set of certificates. That is the point of it.
Will a clear coating survive outdoors?
The formulation is UV-resistant and made for exposed paths. Like any outdoor surface it needs periodic cleaning and re-testing, which the included maintenance guide covers.
What P-rating does a public walkway need?
P4 under AS 4586 for outdoor pedestrian areas. High-risk sections such as ramps on the route may call for P5. We confirm ratings section by section in your free product match.
Do you handle council and large commercial sites?
Yes. Routes are treated in stages, usually overnight or off-peak, and each section gets its own compliance certificate. Public transport and council projects are already on our books.
How long does it last on a walkway?
Years, not months, when maintained as specified. Traffic volume and shade (algae) are the main variables, so the re-test schedule matters.
Does the coating change how a gloss tile looks?
On a gloss tile the sheen can change slightly toward satin; that is the only visible difference most customers notice.
